This holy route visits four important Hindu pilgrimage sites: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. These sacred places are located in the Garhwal region, a part of Uttarakhand that was once within Uttar Pradesh.

    Day 1: Arrival in Haridwar – Journey to Barkot

    Distance: 210 km | Travel Time: 7-8 hours

    Your spiritual adventure begins with your arrival in the holy city of Haridwar. After a warm welcome, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Barkot via the enchanting hill station of Mussoorie. On the way, enjoy a refreshing stop at the famous Kempty Falls, where you can soak in the natural beauty of the cascading waters. As we continue the journey, the majestic views of the Himalayas will begin to unfold, setting the tone for the days ahead. Upon arrival in Barkot, settle into your comfortable accommodation and relax over a delicious dinner.

    Day 2: Trek to Yamunotri Temple

    Distance: 42 km drive & 5 km trek (each way)
    Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
    Stay: Barkot / Kharsali

    Today, we rise early to start our journey to the sacred Yamunotri Temple, the source of the Yamuna River and one of the four Chardham shrines. A drive through the verdant landscapes brings us to Janki Chatti, the base for the trek to Yamunotri. The 5 km trek offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Upon reaching the temple, you’ll have the opportunity to take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund (hot springs) before offering prayers to the goddess Yamuna. After the darshan, we trek back to Janki Chatti and return to Barkot for an overnight stay.

    • Hanuman Chatti: The confluence of the Hanuman Ganga and Yamuna Rivers.
    • Yamunotri Temple: A revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Yamuna.

    Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi

    After a relaxed breakfast, we drive to Uttarkashi, a town known for its rich spiritual heritage and stunning natural beauty. On arrival, we visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the most prominent temples in Uttarkashi, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the area at your leisure or rest and prepare for the next day’s journey.

    Highlight: Kashi Vishwanath Temple – A temple with deep spiritual significance, set against a backdrop of serene mountains.

    Day 4: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and Return

    Today’s journey takes us to the revered Gangotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga. We depart early in the morning with a packed breakfast, enjoying the crisp mountain air as we drive along the Bhagirathi River. Upon reaching Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred waters of the Ganga before performing the rituals and offering prayers at the temple. After the darshan, we return to Uttarkashi, stopping at Gangnani to enjoy the hot springs en route.

    • Gangnani: Natural hot springs, perfect for a rejuvenating bath.

    Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi via Tehri Dam

    Distance: 240 km | Travel Time: 8-9 hours

    Stay: Guptkashi / Sitapur

    We embark on a long but scenic drive today, traveling from Uttarkashi to Guptkashi. En route, we pass the imposing Tehri Dam, one of the tallest dams in the world, offering a panoramic view of the dam and the surrounding mountains. The drive continues through winding roads with mesmerizing views of the Himalayas until we reach Guptkashi, where we’ll spend the night.

    Highlight: Tehri Dam – A marvel of engineering, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty.

    Day 6: Guptkashi to Kedarnath

    Distance: 21 km trek | Travel Time: 8-9 hours
    Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
    Stay: Kedarnath

    Today marks the most awaited part of your pilgrimage – the journey to Kedarnath, one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. Depending on your preference, you can either trek the 21 km distance or opt for a air ride (subject to availability). The trek is challenging yet spiritually rewarding, with stunning views of the snow-capped peaks and the Mandakini River. Upon reaching Kedarnath, pay your respects at the Kedarnath Temple and witness the famous evening aarti. Overnight stay in Kedarnath.

    Highlights:

    • Kedarnath Temple: One of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a major pilgrimage site.
    • Bhim Shila: A massive stone that protected the temple during the 2013 floods, now revered by devotees.

    Day 7: Kedarnath to Guptkashi

    Distance: 21 km trek | Travel Time: 6-7 hours
    Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
    Stay: Guptkashi / Sitapur

    After an early morning visit to the Kedarnath Temple for a final darshan, we trek back to Gaurikund. From here, we drive back to Guptkashi for a well-deserved rest. If time permits, you can visit the Triyuginarayan Temple, an ancient temple believed to be the site of Lord Shiva’s marriage to Goddess Parvati.

    Highlight: Triyuginarayan Temple (Optional) – A site of immense religious importance, especially for devotees of Lord Shiva.

    Day 8: Guptkashi to Badrinath via Chopta

    Distance: 196 km | Travel Time: 7 hours
    Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
    Stay: Govindghat / Pipalkoti / Badrinath

    Today, we journey to the final dham – Badrinath. The route takes us through the picturesque meadows of Chopta, known as the “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand,” with its rolling green hills and dense forests. We continue to Govindghat, where we’ll rest for the night.

    Highlight: Chopta – A tranquil and scenic spot offering stunning views of the Himalayas.

    Day 9: Full-Day Darshan at Badrinath

    Distance: 75 km | Travel Time: 2-3 hours
    Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
    Stay: Govindghat / Pipalkoti / Rudraprayag

    This day is dedicated to the divine Badrinath Temple. Start your day with a holy dip in the Tapt Kund (hot springs) before offering prayers at the temple. Explore the nearby attractions such as Mana Village, the last Indian village before Tibet, and visit sacred sites like Vyas Gufa and Bhim Pul. After a day filled with spiritual experiences, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

    • Badrinath Temple: A key site in the Chardham Yatra, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
    • Mana Village: The last inhabited village on the Indo-Tibetan border, rich in culture and history.

    Day 10: Return to Haridwar via Rishikesh

    Distance: 240 km | Travel Time: 7-8 hours

    On the final day of your pilgrimage, we drive back to Haridwar, passing through the holy city of Rishikesh. Visit iconic sites like Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, and if time permits, attend the serene evening Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan. The journey concludes as we drop you off at Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport for your onward journey.
