These Monument Zones include the Durbar squares of Kathmandu (Hanuman Dhoka), Patan, and Bhaktapur, each adorned with resplendent palaces, temples, and vibrant public spaces. The spiritual ensembles of Swayambhunath, Bauddhanath, Pashupati, and Changu Narayan complete this extraordinary heritage.
Swayambhunath is home to the oldest Buddhist stupa in the valley, while Boudhanath proudly displays the largest stupa in Nepal. Pashupati enchants with its extensive Hindu temple precinct, and Changu Narayan offers a glimpse into traditional Newari life alongside a Hindu temple complex, adorned with ancient inscriptions dating back to the fifth century AD.
The architectural marvels in these zones are predominantly constructed from fired brick with mud mortar, showcasing intricate timber structures. Roofs are adorned with small terracotta tiles and gilded brass ornamentation. Every window, doorway, and roof strut is a canvas for exquisite decorative carvings, while the stupas stand tall with their simple yet powerful forms, crowned by gilded cubes bearing the all-seeing eternal Buddha eyes.

Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon landing at Kathmandu Airport, you’ll receive a warm welcome and assistance with customs. We’ll then escort you to your hotel for check-in. In the evening, immerse yourself in the spiritual ambiance of Pashupatinath Temple’s aarti ceremony before returning to your hotel for a restful night in Kathmandu.
Explore Kathmandu’s Cultural Riches
After a hearty breakfast, embark on a journey through Kathmandu’s cultural gems. Visit the awe-inspiring Swoyambhunath Stupa (a UNESCO World Heritage site), the mystical Jala Narayan Temple with its Sleeping Vishnu, the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square (home to the Living God Kumari), and the serene Bouddhanath Stupa (another World Heritage site).
